Sea and Sand Festival

The festivities center on a Saturday street festival, followed Sunday by a couple of beachfront competitions including a chance to witness some pretty impressive sandcastles.

Its street festival runs all day Saturday, with local craft, fashion and food vendors lining Center Street, plenty of live musical acts, a silent auction and further fantastic culinary options from Folly restaurants. Keep the kids entertained with inflatables, two designated kids areas, carnival games and face painting.

Advanced Sea and Sand street festival tickets typically cost roughly half the price of the festival day of gate admission, so it is recommended that you buy yours online in advance once tickets go on sale.

Event proceeds benefit Folly Beach projects and charities chosen each year by the Folly Association of Business, which coordinates the festival.

Folly Beach residents and children age 12 and under receive free admission.

On Sunday, the annual Sand Sculpting Contest and Volleyball Competition are held at the Tides Hotel along the beautiful Folly Beach oceanfront. For the volleyball, there are recreation and competitive divisions and you can register and compete for prizes. Or if you would rather watch from the sidelines you can just be a spectator and cheer people on.
