Bring your instrument down to Folly Beach Crab Shack and join in for an open jam hoe-down. Bluegrass, folk, old-time, vintage country. Every Thursday evening starting at 7pm.

The Folly Beach Bluegrass Society was formed in 2002 to provide local players with an outlet to share their music and showcase traditional
Bluegrass. The setting is informal, there are no sign-up lists or hired musicians. Whether you come to participate in the playing, or just to listen, you're sure to hear some good pickin' down at the beach.

Islanders Shag Club

The Islanders Shag Club was formed in 1987 and is a member of the Association of Carolina Shag clubs. Their mission is to promote and preserve the shag, South Carolina's State Dance.

They participate each year in SOS (Society of Stranders) in North Myrtle Beach where they enjoy fellowship, workshops and dancing with shag clubs from all over the United States.The Club has many social events during the year, including an annual fishing tournament which raises money for various children's charities.Their Annual Shag-a-thon raises funds for Hospice of Charleston.

For nine years they were located on Folly Beach but due to increased property values they were not able to renew their lease. The Club's current home is at JB Pivots at 1662 Savannah Highway behind Shoney's.

Join them on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday for great shagging. Shag lessons are offered on Thursday's begining at 7:00 pm. Cost is 5.00.
